Alafoginis earns All-State honors

Senior Forward Darby Alafoginis has earned 2011 PIAA All-State honors. Alafoginis, who was also selected as the NTL West Player of the Year, posted his 50th career goal this season, while recording 38 points and a season high 16 goals.
"I was very proud of Darby's accomplishment," stated Wellsboro head coach John Shaffer. "Scoring 50 goals is a great landmark, but the thing I am most proud of Darby for is his willingness to change his playing style over his junior and senior seasons.
"Darby sacrificed scoring opportunities to help make the team better. At some points he was unselfish to a fault, but that just shows how committed Darby was to improving the team."
