Girls track tops Williamson, 124-26

The Wellsboro girls track team continued their perfect season with a dominant 124-26 win over Williamson Tuesday night.

The Lady Hornets swept the 100m run, as Freshman Jada Jackson took 1st (14.0), Freshman Lindsey Graver was 2nd (14.6), and Freshman Emma Eccher was 3rd (14.9). Jackson also captured 1st in the 200m run (28.5) followed by Graver in 2nd (29.9).

In the 400m run, Graver was 2nd (1:08.9), Sophomore Caitlynn Butler finished 3rd (1:10.9), and Freshman Maddy Kyle was 4th (1:11.7).

The Lady Hornets would go on to sweep the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m runs.

In the 800m, Sophomore Annie Sweeney was 1st (2:53.1), Senior Randi Grim was 2nd (2:53.8), and Butler was 3rd (2:54.3). In the 1600m, Grim took home 1st (6:08.5), Freshman Camryn Keane was 2nd (6:20.3), and Sweeney was 3rd (6:24.0). In the 3200m, Keane (14:03.0) and Freshman Samantha Bailey (14:54.6) took home the top spots.

In the 100m hurdles, Sophomore Ashley Johns took home 1st in 20.6 followed by Freshman Haley Zuchowski (21.2). Zuchowski finished 1st in the 300m hurdles (58.7) followed by Johns (58.8), and Junior Kaelyn Keane was 3rd (59.0).

In the realys, the Lady Hornets took home the top spot in all three events. The 4x100m team ran 54.3, the 4x400m team finished in 4:22.5, and the 4x800m team ran 11:13.0.

Kaelyn Keane finished 2nd in the high jump (4' 10") followed by Freshman Mikayla Feil (4' 4") and Freshman Raisa Rogers in 3rd (4' 4"). Senior Sarah Kramer (8' 6") and Freshman Joey Taft (7' 6") took home the top two spots in the pole vault, Kramer won the long jump (15' 1"), and Senior Kimbery Acorn won the triple jump (34' 8").

In the throwing events, Sophomore Danielle Mihalik finished 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 25' 4.75", followed by Senior Hannah Zuchowski (24' 5.25"), and Senior Franciszka Lupkowski in 5th (23' 6"). Senior Jessie Catherman finished 1st in the discus (77' 6") and the javelin (101' 2") to round out the day.

With the win, the Lady Hornets are now 5-0 (4-0 NTL). The team will be back in action on Friday, April 19 as they travel to Lock Haven University to participate in the Bald Eagle Invite.
