Four Lady Hornets advance to PIAA State Track Meet

Four members of the Wellsboro girls track team will represent the Lady Hornets at the PIAA State Track and Field Meet next weekend.

Junior Lauren Bleggi and Sophomores Raisa Rogers, Lindsey Graver, and Jada Jackson will team up to run the 4x100m relay after qualifying at Districts with a 2nd place finish in 50.59. Jackson also qualified individually in the triple jump as she finished in 3rd place with a jump of 35' 10.75".

The girls as a team finished 8th overall, the top NTL team, with 33 points.

Bleggi finished 7th in the 100m (13.26) and 3rd in the 200m (27.15). Graver was 14th in the 200m (28.31), Senior Kaelyn Keane was 20th in the 100m hurdles (18.22), Rogers was 9th in the high jump (4' 10"), Sophomore Mikayla Feil was 10th in the high jump (4' 8"), and Graver was 9th in the long jump (15' 7.75").

Senior Alex Kurtz finished 6th in the shot put (31' 7.25") and third in the javelin (109'), and Keane was 7th in the javelin (101' 5").

Bleggi and Jackson will be making their second trip to Shippensburg University. Jackson went in 2013 in the 400m and Bleggi was a member of the 2012 4x100m realy team of Taylor Acorn, Mikayla Palmer-Bacon, and Raina Rogers, who finished 5th overall in the state. Graver and Raisa Rogers will be making their first appearance at the event.
