Lady Hornets top Troy in four sets

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team needed four sets to beat Troy on Tuesday, October 13.
The Lady Hornets won the first set 25-17 and lost the second 26-24 before winning 25-23 and 25-19 to take the match.
Senior Darci Warriner had a team-high 18 points, senior Mikayla Feil scored 13, and senior Haley Zuchowski and junior Kirsten Florio each scored 7 points. Senior Hannah Wagaman led the team with 29 digs and Warriner added 21. Kirsten Florio also added 2 blocks on the night.
Junior Morgan Florio recorded 18 assists, senior Maddy Kyle had 6, and sophomore Brianne Keane added 5. Kirsten Florio made 11 kills on the night, Warriner had 10, and Feil and Morgan Florio each pitched in 7.
Wellsboro won the JV game 2-1 (25-20, 26-28, 15-12) to improve to 10-4 on the year.
With the win, the Varsity team improves to 13-1 (6-1 NTL Division 1) on the year. The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 15 as they host Athens on Senior Night.
