The Wellsboro Middle School Girls Basketball team cruised to a 47-3 victory over Cowanesque Valley on Monday, March 30.

"All the girls played really well tonight and did an excellent job of being unselfish and passing the ball to open teammates," said head coach Darrell Morris. Julia Smith had 14 points and Emma Poirier had six points. Cathryn Brought, Jaime Palmer, Kayla Mengee, and Liza Manning all added four points each. Lauren Singer added three points and four rebounds, while Heidi Zuchowski, Caitlyn Callahan, Karinthia Witmer, and Dani Hunt each added two points each.

The B team won 23-16 to improve to 5-3-1. Bri Tuttle, Emma Palmer, and Ruby Stocks all had four points each. Tiana Lecker added three points and Luna Alexander, Amanda Gehman, Caitlyn Callahan, and Georgia Macensky each chipped in with two points each.

With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 16-4. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 1 as they travel to Mansfield.
