Nine NTL wrestlers move on to regionals out of place finishesWILLIAMSPORT — The place matches weren't kind to local wrestlers at the District IV Championships Saturday.

Only one out of eight NTL wrestlers extended their seasons in the fifth-place match while four out of eight won bronze at their weight.

Wyalusing's Luke Yonkin (138) scored a 12-0 major decision over Midd-West's Noah Ettinger to take fifth.

Coming up short, though, were Athens' Brock Horton (126), Towanda's Keegan Kisner (145), Canton's Timmy Ward (152), Sayre's Matt Ingrassia (160), Wyalusing's Ed Mapes (170) and NEB's Owen Maryott (285).

Horton lost to Line Mountain's Brian Earlston 10-4, Kisner fell to Midd-West's Kenny Boyer 7-1, Ward lost to Bloomsburg's Mitch Milbrand 11-7, Ingrassia was edged out by Southern Columbia's Cal Haladay 3-1 in second tie-breaker, Mapes was pinned by Muncy's Michael Kustanbauter 3:12, and Maryott fell 3-0 to Mifflinburg's Sam Rishell.

Winning third place matches were Athens' A.J. Burkhart (113) and Gage Cannavino (145), Wyalusing's Josh Haley (152) and Troy's Zach Zimmerman (182).

Burkhart scored a 4-0 decision over Bloomsburg's Colby Bronzburg, Cannavino pinned Muncy's Coleman Good in 3:21, Haley pulled out a 2-0 decision over Mifflinburg's Tyler Stoltzfus and Zimmerman edged Midd-West's Cameron Snook 6-5.

Taking home fourth place finishes were Troy's Sheldon Seymour (106), Towanda's D.J. Knolles (132) and Seth Johnson (195) and North Penn-Liberty's Justin Kriner (285).

Seymour lost to Hughesville's Luke Gorg 8-2, Knolles fell to Line Mountain's Collin Klinger 8-5, Johnson was decisioned by Mifflinburg's Luke Walter, and Kriner was shut out by Hughesville's Josh Dauberman 1-0.

Top five wrestlers move on to the Regional Tournament next week.
