Athens’ Breana Gambrell wins long jump at Kevin Dare invite.

STATE COLLEGE — Athens' Breana Gambrell competed in three events at the Kevin Dare Memorial Invitational on Saturday — and came away with three medals on the day.

Breana won the long jump when she hit mark at 19-6 ½. The mark broke her own personal-best, which is also the best in Pennsylvania this season.

Ariana Gambrell also competed in long jump, as she took 30th at 14-7 ¾.

The Athens senior also competed in triple jump, placing second at 37-2 ½. Bishop McNamara's Taylor Grimes had a winning mark at 39-3 ½.

In the 60-meter dash, Breana's lone track event of the day, she placed fourth with a time of 7.88 seconds. Breana won her heat in the prelims, where she took in a time of 7.97 seconds.

Ariana came in 21st in shot put at 26-10 ¼. The Athens junior competed in the 60-meter dash for her lone track event of the day. She finished with a time of 10.04 seconds in the prelims, but missed the cut for the finals by five spots.
