South's Dorner cruises to No. 1 singles victory.

South Williamsport freshman Olivia Dorner easily won at No. 1 singles against Bloomsburg's Emily Keyser, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win to help the Mounties defeat Bloomsburg, 3-2, in girls tennis on Monday.

The Sun-Gazette softball coverage area once again was heavily represented on the Pennsylavnia Association High School Softball Coaches Association 2018 All State Teams. A near-record 26 players earned all-state honors in four different classifications, including seven who earned first-team selections.

POTTSVILLE — Aiden Gair went flying through the air, extending his body across the Martz Hall baseline pursuing a loose ball. Gair landed chest-first, but quickly popped up and played defense. Moments later he drained a 3-pointer.

HERSHEY — Gerald Ross drove to the baseline, taking a double team with him. The clutch junior stopped on a dime, spun and found an open Mitch Klingerman on the 3-point wing. The senior's eyes widened as the clock ticked below 20 seconds and his team faced a two-point deficit.
