Allen Taylor won the 110 hurdles by just over a second and picked up a win in the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet, 1 inch, but Williamsport fell in a close one against Selinsgrove, 79-71, in boys track and field on Tuesday afternoon.

SUNBURY — Earlier in the week, Athens coach Jack Young said that his team would have a tough time in its District 4 Class 4A semifinal at Shikellamy if they fell behind early, as his offense wasn't especially built for playing from behind.

Four NTL tennis players, two from Towanda, one from Galeton and one from Wellsboro, advanced to the second round of the District IV singles tennis tournament on Wednesday.

Cody Jennings had a double, a single, and an RBI on offense and on the mound, Jennings threw 6 and two thirds innings, striking out 15 and allowing no runs on four hits to lead the Wildcats to their 2-0 win over Shikellamy on Thursday.

 

Athens girls win Molly Dry Invitational, Wyalusing boys take third.

The Athens girls cruised to the team title at the Molly Dry Invitational on Thursday as Breana Gambrell won four events and set three meet records. Gambrell broke meet records in both the long jump and 100 meters, and also won the triple jump and was part of the winning 4x100 relay that set a meet record. Towanda's Jessica Tice broke the meet record in the shot.
